My Global Friends: Here is a poem written by one of my Korean students--Juby~~aka bon Juby. It is a lovely expression of his feelings and thoughts about the English word now...

At This Moment...

If I can look at the stars at this moment,
How wonderful that is!

Even though my ears will become some
soil before long, and if I can listen to The
9th Symphony at this moment, how
brilliant that is!

Even though my friends will be erased
from my memory, and if I can smile and
talk with them at this moment, how joyful
that is !

Even though my brain stops, and even
though the moment when my hands decay
comes, it is true that I am writing my
poem at this moment and about whatever I want.

It is really true that nobody can ban this moment ....NOW.

McCain starts mapping out a new role in the Senate - Yahoo! News

With all due respect to Senator John McCain, I would like to place his eloquent, honorable and dignified concession speech on my blog as I did for Senator Barack Obama's acceptance speech. Perhaps you could learn something from both speeches in a way that might help you reach an understanding of the differences between the two presidential hopefuls. In any event, you might want to compare and contrast the two political speeches for an American government class or for our academic preparation class at Rice University. Please feel free to react and respond--and I will seaya tomorrow for another dose of The Daily English Class. You are an awesome class--and as I have told other students in the past, I have come to believe over the years that you are--diplomats in our own backyard...
